Users must be explicitly assigned permissions in Software Potential. No permissions are assigned by default when registering a new user in Software Potential.

User Permission Groupings
User permissions are grouped as follows in the Software Potential portal UI:
Product Management Permissions Group
The Product Management grouping displays the user permissions required to:
- View, create or update product definitions
- Access reports and analytics
Products
Read: To only view product and feature definitions
Manage: To create or update a product definition e.g. add a new product/version or add/remove a feature from an existing product/version
Analyze
Manage: To view reports in the Analyze subsystem where that subsystem is provisioned for a vendor account
License Management Permissions Grouping
The License Management panel displays the user permissions required to:
- View, issue, reissue, update or assign licenses
- View, create or update customers
Licenses
Read: To
- Search Licenses and Activations and
- View license and activation details.
Manage: To
- Disable, Deactivate or change the Max Devices associated with a license without reissuing the license.
- To create and manage SKUs (license templates)
As the License Manage option does NOT allow a user to issue or reissue a license, you should assign this permission to a user that you wish to be able to Disable, Deactivate or otherwise update a license but not have the ability to issue/reissue a license.
Issue
Manage: To issue or reissue a license.
A user with this permission can also Disable, Deactivate and Change Max Devices on an issued license without having to reissue the license.
Customers
Read: To view customer data.
Manage: To
- Create or update customer data
- Assign/reassign licenses to customers
Development Permissions Grouping
The Development panel displays the user permissions required to:
- Register WebHooks and client Applications
- Create and update Permutations
- Access Software Potential NuGet feed.
Develop
Read: To view details of a WebHook or client Application
Manage: To create/update a WebHook or to register a client Application.
Permutations
Manage: To create or update a permutation.
A user with Permutation Manage permission can also access the NuGet feed to download SpAgent runtime packages.
NuGet
Manage: To read and install SpAgent runtime packages from the Software Potential NuGet feed.
A user with this permission can NOT create or update a permutation.
This permission should be assigned to developers who need to authenticate to the Software Potential NuGet feed to install the required NuGet packages in the application solutions/projects.
User Management Permission Grouping
The User Management panel displays the user permissions required to manage users.
Users
Manage: To register a user and to manage user permissions
At least one user in Software Potential must have this Manage permission. A user with the User Manage permission can remove this permission from other users but cannot remove it from his/her own account.
